Q1 2023 is the best first quarter in the history of STS S.A. and the second record quarter after Q4 2022

The value of amounts staked in Q1 2023 in the STS S.A. (excluding the UK and Estonia operations) – the main operating company in the STS Group – was PLN 1.193 billion and was higher by 16% year on year, compared to the amount of PLN 1.026 billion in the previous year. From January to March this year, NGR for STS (excluding the UK and Estonia operations) increased by 12% y-o-y, from PLN 156 million up to PLN 175 million. In the first three months of 2023, STS S.A. generated GGR of PLN 305 million (excluding the UK and Estonia operations), compared to PLN 279 million a year before. This represents a year-on-year increase by 9%.

In Q1 2023, there were 57,000 new registrations, compared to 56,000 a year before (excluding the UK and Estonia operations). The number of players who made the first deposit was 37 thousand from January to March this year, compared to 35 thousand in the previous year (excluding the UK and Estonia operations). The number of active users in Q1 2023 was 331 thousand, compared to 339 thousand Q1 2022 (excluding the UK and Estonia operations).

In line with our expectations, in Q1 2023 we achieved very good operating results. We recorded significant increases in key indicators related to our business. STS customers remain strong and willing to place bets. In addition, a significant proportion of players acquired during the World Cup are highly active. We hope that in the coming months we will continue to effectively activate our extensive customer base, which is still growing says Mateusz Juroszek, President of the Management Board of STS Holding.

In 2023, the Group is planning a number of activities aimed at increasing the profitability of its operations. To this end, the company reorganised its operations, focusing on Poland and closing its activities under licenses in the UK and Estonia.

In Q1 2023, the STS Group – with operations in Poland, the UK and Estonia – recorded a value of bets placed of PLN 1.199bn, up from PLN 1.075bn a year ago. The NGR for the STS Group from January to March this year was PLN 176 million, a year ago it was PLN 158 million. GGR for STS Group in the first three months of this year was PLN 306 million, a year ago it was PLN 282 million.

In the first quarter of 2023, the number of new registrations for the STS Group – operations in Poland, the UK and Estonia – was 57,000, a year ago it was 64,000. The number of FTD’s from January to March this year was 38 thousand, a year ago it was 41 thousand. The number of active users for STS Group in Q1 2023 was 333,000, in Q1 2022 it was 350,000.

In 2022, the STS Group generated NGR of PLN 663 million, compared to PLN 565 million in 2021, which means a year-on-year increase of 17%. The value of amounts staked by the customers of the STS Group amounted to PLN 4.679 billion, compared to PLN 4.492 billion in 2021. The number of active users amounted to 783 thousand in 2022, compared to 693 thousand in 2021. In 2022, the Group recorded 439 thousand new registrations (370 thousand in 2021), and the number of customers who made their first deposit amounted to 317 thousand (249 thousand in 2021). All operational data were at their historic highs at the time.

The STS Group recorded consolidated revenues of PLN 579 million in 2022, compared to PLN 498 million a year earlier. This represents a year-on-year increase of over 16%. The net profit attributable to the shareholders of the parent company amounted to PLN 169 million, while in 2021 it amounted to PLN 131 million.[1] This represents a year-on-year increase by almost 29%. In addition, adjusted EBITDA reached the level of PLN 273 million last year, which is an increase of over 26% compared to the result from 2021. The EBITDA adjusted margin in 2022 was 41.2%, compared to 38.2% the year before. Thus, it increased by 3 percentage points.

STS Holding shares debuted on the WSE on 10 December 2021. The total value of the public offering was approx. PLN 1.1 billion, while the company’s capitalization resulting from the final price was approx. PLN 3.6 billion. The investors acquired 46,874,998 shares, or 30% of the share capital of STS Holding. The average reduction in subscriptions submitted by individual investors amounted to approx. 87.2%. Mateusz Juroszek and his family maintain 70% of the shareholding in the company.
